Is There THE Best Way To Make Money Online?

Copyright 2006 Nikki Mhlanga
Since the advent of the Internet, a lot of people have been trying to make money online. Some have succeeded; some have not only failed, but have also lost a lot of money; and some are still trying, hoping their luck will change.
The list of ways to make money online is long: Affiliate programs, Multi Level Marketing (MLM), High Yield Investment Programs (HYIP), Surveys, Resale Rights Products, creating and selling your own products, niche/content websites, writing articles for content sites, paid to surf, and the list goes on.
Although there are a lot of genuine and legitimate ways to make money online, the internet has also been flooded by many frauds and scams that promise people instance riches overnight.
So those wanting to try their hand at making money online, or to change their luck for the better, ask: Is there really THE best way to make money online? The simple answer is NO.
The basic fact is that what is a good way to make money online for one person may not be for the other person. What makes someone else a million dollars in six months’ time may only make you a few hundred dollars within the same timeframe. Your dedication, effort and knowledge is what normally makes the difference.
Each person has to find what works for them and their experience and skills and interests. Everybody have their own ways to make money online - there are no BEST ways, and there are No easy ways.
It is noteworthy that an online business is no different from any other business. You have to make the investment, in terms of time, money, effort etc. You should be prepared to learn a lot, work hard and you must have lots of patience.
So, what constitutes the ‘best’ and easy way to make money online?
1. Whatever you feel the most comfortable with. It is important for you to explore what interests you and be confident in the products or services you represent. If you are passionate about your online business and the products or services you represent, and work hard at it, you can easily succeed.
2. A business that will give you a repeating income and does not rely solely on your own efforts. Residual income is what set apart the winners from the losers on making money online – you must do the work once and get paid five years from now. Instead of relying on only your efforts to build your online wealth, you can build your wealth through the efforts of many sub-affiliates. Instead of making your online wealth from 100% of your own efforts, you can make it from 1% of 100 sub-affiliates. A good online business is one which earns you some residual income.
3. A business that will give you multiple streams of income from diverse business ventures. Do not put all your eggs in one basket. A good online business can be a combination of several affiliate programs, or sites setup in all sorts of niches, free/paid membership sites or selling your own or other people’s e-books.
4. A business that gives you a secure and lasting way to earn a living online such as selling a product which you can develop or upgrade over time. A well executed site targeted to a very specific refined area selling a hard to find product or e-book is a good online business. These can be your own products or someone else. An online business is similar to any other business – long term security is important. It is therefore advisable that you start an online business that has long term success potential.
5. A business that suits your skills and experience. For example, for most people, affiliate programs tend to be the easiest way to start with. They have minimal investment requirements and some very good ones come with a step-by-step guide to help you start making money with the affiliate programs.
6. A good online business is one for which you have a well executed marketing plan. How you market any business can make or break that business, so the marketing plan you have for your business – whatever it is - and how effective that marketing plan is, will determine how good your online business will be for you. How you decide to promote what you choose to do online will make the difference.
7. A business with which you can have a long term focus, which you will be able to work on consistently to grow it. The key to making an online business succeed is to work the opportunity every day without fail, and to stick to it. A lot of people come across good online business opportunities, but most of them quit before finding financial freedom, and they jump onto the next online business opportunity. This is mainly because the internet is full of ‘business opportunities’ some of which are scams, and also, some wealth seekers think that there are some easy and quick ways to make money online. Pick a proven online business that suits your interests and experience, focus on it long enough, do not get distracted, and you'll make money.
Regardless of what you will consider to be the ‘best’ online business for you based on your interests and experience; in order to make real money, you will need to have some 'leverage' and use some tips which will ensure that your online business is a success.
Whatever the type of online business you will take on, you will need the following to succeed and make your way of making money online THE best way to earn money:
1. Build your own subscriber list or affiliate program which will become an asset that you can draw money out of continually over time. You will need a customer base to make money with any online business.
2. Whatever your business is, set up your web site so that you can get free organic and viral traffic. This is a very powerful form of leverage that will offset your marketing expenses.
3. Have an in-demand product, which can easily be leveraged to recruit affiliates, perform joint ventures, build a list or even sell resale licenses.
4. Build a solid reputation. This form of "leverage" will exponentially increase your sales over a competitor, can help you easily get into joint ventures, and will literally market your products and services for you.
If you identify a strategy that is working 'best' for you then you can put more effort there! It is recommended that you diversify by having for example affiliate programs, offline businesses, MLM, own products etc

Turn Online Window Shoppers into Customers

If you stand in front of a store on a slow Sunday afternoon, you will notice the same thing happening over and over again. People will pass by and carefully examine the wares in prominently displayed in the windows. Perhaps they will mumble something about the items on display. They will not even step into the store. These people are not customers. Rather, they are just window shoppers. On this particular Sunday they are looking, but certainly not buying.
It is even easier to "window shop" on the Internet, since you don't even need to step outside the house. People browse through many different web sites, look at the products and services on display, but do not buy.
However, if all you get are window shoppers, rather not buyers, you need to look into why at least some of your web site visitors are not buying from you. There are many reasons why someone does not become a customer of a store. They might not be interested in buying at this time and are just doing research; they might not be your target customers, or they can't find what they are looking for on your web site.
Let's look at several actions ways to improve your web site to generate more online sales:
- Get more targeted visitors to your web site. If you are selling sporting equipment, and people who come to your web site are couch potatoes, you will not get many takers.
The more targeted your web site visitors are, the higher the probability that they will buy something. Let's say you are a business coach who helps accountants get more clients. When potential customers come to your web site looking for a "generic" coach, they are not really targeted clients, since there are many different types of coaches who focus on different market niches.
If potential customers come to your web site and they are looking for a business coach, your targeting is better than in that in the example above. If potential customers find your site while searching for a business coach for accountants, congratulations! You have hit the jackpot. Your marketing campaign is as targeted as it can possibly get, since these people are a perfect match for your expertise. You should strive to achieve the highest possible level of targeting for your web site.
- Make sure that your target customers can find exactly what they came for on your web site. If you are a business coach for accountants, and you get highly targeted customers they still won't necessarily buy from you, unless they can find what they are looking for.
Some people may be interested in information about your services, while others are on a limited budget will only be able to buy just one of your products. Make sure that all the visitors who come to your web site can easily find exactly what they are looking for.
- Make it simple for your web site visitors to take action. People will go elsewhere if they can't figure out how to buy from your or how to sign up for your newsletter.
Take action now. Use the three steps above to generate more sales on your web site.

Is An Ebusiness Right For You

You need to make some money. Perhaps you'd like to change careers. Maybe you'd like a new challenge. Or you've just heard the rumors about the fortunes to be made on the internet.
Any one of these reasons might have led you to the decision to start your own internet business, but before you begin investing your time and money there are some important questions you need to answer to determine if an ebusiness is right for you.
First you should consider your familiarity and ease with the internet. If you don't know about negotiate the web or attempting to do makes you uncomfortable then this alone does not mean you should rethink starting an ebusiness. However it does mean that you need to spend time learning about how the internet works and getting familiar with basic tools such as email, web browsers, message boards, and search engines. If your discomfort was a simple result of ignorance then don't worry about it as you can acquire the knowledge and skills you need. However if you find that you simply don't like it even after you become familiar then that should be a red flag to consider another career path.
Second you should consider your business knowledge and experience and then consider how that works for you or against you in the world of ecommerce. A simple lack of knowledge and experience simply means that you will need to spend time learning or filling in the gaps in your knowledge. The good news is that this information is readily available on the internet. Of course the bad news is that if you leap into business before you are ready it can cost you a lot of time and money. My advice is to read articles and ebooks to acquire a basic foundation then begin spending time in some online forums and ask questions. People are always willing to help. Don't spend any money while building this foundation knowledge. You don't have to so why do it? Latter on as you begin to delve deeper into your niche then you may decide that some information is worth paying for but hopefully by then you'll be a better judge. However you may discover during your studies that ecommerce bores you or confuses you. Again, that should be a red flag to consider another career path.
Third what need will your ebusiness fill? Obviously you have needs but that is not what I'm talking about. Think about your potential audience or customer. Start searching for other products that might compete with yours or other businesses that already exist. Visit forums, subscribe to newsletters, and study web sites that relate to this field. Eventually you will be able to determine if there is a need for your ebusiness, how big a demand exists, and how much competition is already in place. It is important to consider these angles because each fact will help determine how easy it will be to establish your new business, grow that business, and ensure its success. You can make a success in a highly competitive field but it is more work than finding yourself in a smaller, yet unexplored, niche.

Before You Start You Your Own Online Business, Do You Have What It Takes?

It seems like these days everybody wants to start their own online business Tired of their job, working for somebody, irritated at the commute, need extra cash, whatever the case may be. I have been there and done that and learned quite a bit along the way.

What most people don't have is the backbone and drive to make a home based business successful. I am a member of many forums on the internet and believe me if some of these newbies don't make a grand the first week they are ready to give up. Most new entrepreneurs are not prepared to invest the time and additional money in their business to give it a chance to succeed. The acceptable thought is if I build it they will come and spend their money. I had the same thought several years ago when I began my first venture. I woke up the second time around.

Running and building your home based business takes time. To skyrocket your business you must prepare to spend advertising money in addition to the free advertising that is available. All of it is important. It takes several weeks to make a huge move in the search engines. Most people who are looking for a product or service generally uses the search sites. If your site doesn't make the first three pages then, it probably won't be seen by that person doing the search. So it is very important to use the tools necessary to get your site listed at the top of the search engines. There are many tools available to you some are free and some cost but you must make an investment in time and money. Remember your site is not brick and mortar you find on a street corner which is very visible, you must make it be seen. You are not paying rent for a building so why not invest money to make it successful. If you can’t afford to invest to build your business you are going to be very frustrated unless you understand the old adage “it takes money to make money.” It doesn’t take a lot but you must be prepared to spend some to give your business a winning edge.

It has been said that only about 5% of home based businesses really make more than they spend. The primary reason is most entrepreneurs wannabes don't give it a chance to succeed. Most wealthy people have failed and have had numerous setbacks before they reaked in the success. Donald Trump was bankrupt after becoming a millionaire and become a multi-millionaire once again after bankruptcy. He could have given up but he knew how to make money. Tom Hicks, the owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team, became bankrupt and became successful once again. It is has nothing to do with what type of business you are in. It is the person behind the business that will either make it succeed or fail.

Perseverance, persistence, dedication and a positive attitude make all the difference in any endeavor. A book to read is Napoleon Hill’s “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude.” Be prepared for setbacks and knockdowns but get back on your feet. Read all the information you can from those that are successful. They will all share their ideas and skills. You and I know that all their trade secrets will not be revealed but at least you get some ideas of where to start and what to do.

You must be a risk taker but not a sucker. Take an idea or business and run with it. Where many people fail is that they start something and do it for awhile and then start another business and work it for awhile and don't get the bang they are looking for and move to something else without giving any of it a chance to succeed. It becomes an endless cycle. These are the ones grouped in the 95% that don't make it.

If you are serious about an online business, do research. Look for a business that offers multiple streams of residual income. Residual income is money that is made over and over from the same action. In other words, if somebody signs up for a product or service you are paid repeatedly while they are a member. Make sense? If you had several of these types of businesses just think of the money you could be making if you promote it and advertise and work at it. Locate opportunities that setup your website and train you in a system that has proven to work. Again, research it. Who is behind the business? You should avoid anything that does not put their own personal stamp on it, in other words their name. Type their name in any search engine and find out who they are and if you can trust them.

Starting your own online business or trying to make an existing one work, persistence and a great attitude is a strong beginning. Take some action each and every day to build your business. Be prepared for setbacks but don’t allow them to overwhelm you or stop you from succeeding.
